Hi,
I have a lot of vinyl records that I would like to convert to an mp3 file format. How do I convert vinyl to digital with Linux? What are the things that I need? Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
How do I convert vinyl to digital with Linux?
The best way to convert vinyl records to digital in Linux is by the use of iTunes. The following are the steps you will need to follow:
-
First, you will need to download and install the Audacity recording software – it should be the Linux version.
-
After that you should get a USB turntable and then connect it to your computer.
-
Next, you will clean the records you want to convert and then record them in Audacity.
-
After that you will have to reduce the noise and any dead spaces in the recording.
-
And then add labels to the recordings to divide them into tracks.
-
Once you have done that, you can export the tracks into MP3 or AAC and then add them to the iTunes library.
