I happen to be working on an application that has 19 tabs that have unique graphics. Those tabs look fine in my mockups but when I imported them in Interface Builder, of course they were all flat gray. Is there a technique or script that can convert my regular colored-bitmap icons to be exactly the same as an iPhone tab graphic? Can anyone give me an automatic way to convert bitmap icons to a properly formatted iPhone tab graphic? Is there a simple Photoshop step or technique to convert these bitmap icons to iPhone tab graphics?
How do I convert bitmap icons to iPhone tab graphics?
Not sure about that but it could be possible. You can try accessing the iphone settings and peruse through the options, there could be an option for customizing the graphic options to formatted tab graphics as you wish them to be. But you can even go deeper in exploring the possibilities of that situation and try working around the display resolution. Altering the resolution to maybe 5 to around 10 pixels taller could make the graphical look to change and also the bitmap icons. Changing the dark grey colors to lighter colors, applying glow when you click and many other modifications could improve the graphical options and therefore make the bitmap icons better.
