There are some Lotus SmartSuite files that need to be converted to MS Office 2003. Now, I am looking for a tool which will not only convert the files but also do the following jobs before altering the files:

1. Scan a hard drive or network, 2. Distribute, and 3. Recognize files with SmartSuite extensions.

I would appreciate if anybody share any solution regarding this.

Hallo Aiyanna,

I will suggest that you use the lotus SmartSuite to ms office 2003 conversion software convert the lotus SmartSuite files to Microsoft office 2003 as you need. You can just search the software online and download it and then install it on your computer, and then launch the converter for you to be able to convert the files.

The converter should be equipped enough to also scan the hard drive that you want to copy the files to and the network, distribute the files as you need and it will also be able to recognize the files with the SmartSuite extensions for it is meant for conversion of such files.

Hope this helps.

Hallo Aiyanna,

The following is a procedure that will enable you to open the Lotus SmartSuite files using MS Office 2003.

  • First, you will need to open the file in Lotus 1-2-3, and after that you will click "File," then "Save As" and save the file as a "WK4" file.
  • After that you will go to Microsoft Excel, and then click "File," then click "Open," then locate the WK4 file on your computer.
  • You will have to make sure that the "Transition formula evaluation" check box is checked.
  • And then you will click "Open."
  •  Excel will open the file and convert the Lotus 1-2-3 formulas to Excel formulas.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Carl
