What is the use of a hard disk?
A hard disk is often called "disk drive," "hard drive," or "hard disk drive". This store and provides, relatively quick access to large amounts of data.
Today's computers typically come with a hard disk that contains, several billion bytes. A hard disk is really a set of stacked "disks," each of which are like a phonograph disk. Data is recorded electromagnetically, in concentric circles or "tracks" on the disk. A "head" (something like a phonograph arm, but in a relatively fixed position) records (writes) or reads the information on the tracks.
Two heads, one on each side of a disk, read or write the data as the disk spins. Each read or write operation needs that data be located, which is an operation called as "seek." On hard disk there are some software and programs installed, that help to run the computer. Without hard disk, computers cannot run.

What is the use of a hard disk?
A hard disk is a drive that stores the data in a computer. It can be used to store the info you require to store in your computer it is just like brain in your head. It works like your brain and stores your data but the data stored in your hard disk remains for years if you keep it there.
In these days hard disk technology is the best thinking technology to store data and that's the reason that each computer has a hard disk with it which stores the data for that computer. But as the technology is growing may be in a few years you see only some components for storing data.
It is easy to store data on hard disk rather than other methods as it takes less time to store data and to manipulate data. So it is used mostly to store data in a computer. The hard disk can be of different sizes that allows you to store different data. A big capacity data can be stored on a big capacity hard disk. What is the use of a hard disk?
A hard disk or also called as disk drive, hard drive or HDD stores and gives a fairly easy access to huge data. It is a stable storage device. This is used to store and recover details through a fast spinning disK covered with magnetic substance. We store computer data on hard disk.
It consists of various platters. Capacity and Performance are the two main characteristics of it. The larger the capacity you have, the more data you can store and the performance is more efficient. 1 TB hard drive is equivalent to 1000 GB and 1 GB is equals to 1 Billion Bytes.
