Which version of Winamp are you installing? And on which platform are you installing it? Assuming you're installing it on Windows XP, just make sure you have most updated DirectX installed, as sometimes this may present incompatibilities.

You can download DirectX from Microsoft. Also make sure you have downloaded the latest version of Winamp. Some versions of this program already comes with a DirectX installer.

If you have tried installing over and over again and the error message still appears, then it seems that you will need to download a new installer. The file you have is corrupt.
