While trying to install Skype 4.2, Error 1638 occurred. Skype says there is a previous version of Skype, and I need to remove that. But there is no Skype installed in my computer. I installed it before, but deleted it since I rarely used it.
What can I do now?

First thing I would suggest is that you should uninstall the earlier version of the Skype present in your computer. After uninstalling the previous version then try downloading the version 4.2 which you want from any trusted site available in the internet. I think after downloading and installing this version the error message won’t show anymore and you can enjoy the newer version of the Skype very easily.
