Hi there!

I use my laptop in my home. I read many forums about PC troubleshooting.

But I don’t know a simple option.

How to check my hardware configuration about 32/64 Bits?

I want to know this answer for installation utilities software and playing games.

Because, I like computer game too much. But some games have 64/32 bits supported.

How can I know this?

Hello Javier,

Identifying hardware configuration is simple.

This should let you change the settings from 32/64 and vice versa. This is applicable if you are into game type of person. Graphics is important for clear view, color and brightness. To change the settings, follow these steps; If you prefer running 32-bit version > Click Start, Run and type cmd then click OK > Type this command to enable 32-bit "cscript%systemdrive%inetpubadminscriptsadsutil.vbs set w3svc/appPools/enable32bitApponwin64 1" You may also type this command %systemroot%microsoft.netframeworkv1.1.4322aspnet_regiis.exe-i this should set your computer running 32-bit If you prefer running 64-bit version > Click Start, Run and type cmd and click OK > type the following command and this should disabled 32-bit version "cscript%systemdrive%inetpubadminscriptsadsutil.vbs set w3svc/appPools/enabled32bitapponWin64 0" You may also type this command %systemroot%microsoft.netframework64v2.0.50727aspnet_regiis.exe-i These steps will let you choose either 32-64 bit you like.

From your screenshot, there are several ways you can confirm whether your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

1. The first indication is your processor name.  AMD Turion 64 X2 is a 64-bt processor.  This means that you can install 64-bit versions of various operating systems (Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, etc.) because your hardware supports it.  You can also install 32-bit versions of these operating systems because 64-bit hardware is backwards compatible with 32-bit hardware and software.

2. The line with "64-bit Operating System" indicates that the version of Windows that is installed in your system is 64-bit.  This means you can use either 32-bit or 64-bit versions of software's.  If you had a 32-bit version of Windows, then you can only install 32-bit versions of software (such as games).

So, to answer your concern, your system and your Windows version will support both 32-bit or 64-bit versions of the software that you want to install be it games or other applications.

Hope this helps.

That’s mean that you are running in 64 bit version of operating system. 64 bit operating system is much faster to handle large amount of memories compared to that of 32 bit operating system.

32 bit programs or applications are not installable in 64 bit operating system but not all. As you can see in some applications that says 32/64 bit compatible. This means that this particular application supports both 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. You can install that application in your 64 bit operating system as well as in 32 bit operating system.

As far as I know, there are some updates in Microsoft site about installation of 32 bit software to a 64 bit operating system. Just give a time to visit the Microsoft site for the update.
