Most of the CMS templates, including those for the WordPress work out of the box so the fact you are the beginner doesn't make any difference.

When choosing a template the most important theme is to know what message you'd like to send to the visitors of your website and what is the purpose of the website. For example, if you are starting an image gallery, you don't want a template crowded with graphic elements as you will have plenty of those when you place images on the page. Or if you are creating a serious business website, you will want to make it clean and professional.Â
