I have windows XP home addition with 512 MB RAM and 80 GB Hard disk. I have blocked popups on my internet but still there are some which appear. I want to block them completely. Please guide me how to do so.
You didn’t mention browser you are using. Anyway according to my personal experience Mozilla Firefox is one of the best browsers I have ever seen. You can download its latest version from the link below:

Now in Mozilla Firefox you can easily block unwanted pop ups.
Click on the Tools option in the top menu bar.
Click options for preferences. The corresponding box will now open.
Click the Content icon.
Make sure the box next to 'Block Pop-up Windows' is checked.
Select the 'Exceptions' button and a box entitled 'Allowed Sites – Popups' will open. You can type in the web address of a certain site for which you want to allow popups.
Close the box and then close the options box by clicking on OK.
There is security software that has Pop-up blocker included in their product. McAfee, Norton and other paid for service security software has this type of feature that you can activate. This prevents pop-up from popping-up that gives you authority to control the settings.
A paid for service security software such as McAfee, Norton, AVG Premium and other software that has Pop-up blocker. Simple activates the pop-up blocker and it'll notify you if the pop-up is coming. A simple click on the button to don't allow the pop-up will let you do your thing.
On the Internet Explorer also has this feature. Click on Tools and enable the pop-up blocker. This is the feature that already installed in Microsoft Internet Explorer products.
