I want to hide my folders because my brother always opens it, I have confidential files on some of my folders and I don’t want it to be viewed by anyone. Is there any other way to hide my files/folders without changing the attribute of a folder to hidden? Because if someone accesses the folder option and enable to show the hidden files and folders they can easily see it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Dear,

Many people have a private files or folders in their computer which they did not share with other people. Hide the folder is a basic thing but other person can saw that how much folders are hidden and what are the location of that hidden folders.

You can use some strong hidden folder software. I personally recommend Hide Folder software and you can download it from:

It’s a free software and very useful to keep your private data away from others. Hide folders is protected by password, it mean double security.

Hope you will enjoy this software.

There are tricks for you to hide your files and folders without enabling the hidden properties of an object and without using any third-party application.

First is, place the folder that you want to hide inside program files directory or even inside Windows folder. Don’t worry it will not affect you computer performance just don’t take too much space from it. Select the folder and then right click select the properties. Click the “Customize” tab and click “Change Icon”.

A new Window will appear, choose from the list of icons. I suggest that you choose a Windows file like a DLL icon. Click Apple and Ok. Once the icon has changed, rename the folder like “Regis” or any believable DLL file name.

The second one is, selecting an icon which is a “no image icon” repeat the process on customizing the icon. From the list of icons, locate the space between icons select it and click OK. You will see that only the name of the folder is left to be visible. Now to have a no folder name, right click the folder and rename it to: Type Alt+0160. Your folder is now completely invisible. Press F5 to refresh if you still see the folder.
