Catastrophic Failure on Microsoft Development Environment

Hi folks,

I was working some final touches on my application project using Microsoft Development Environment.

When I  refer a .ddl  and try it to be access one method, I meet an error that says Catastrophic failure.

Catastrophic failure

I have not encountered such error ever since, and I don't have any idea since no other notice was posted, on what is the cause of the error, or just a suggestion on what went wrong. On my disappointment, I rebooted my computer and do the task again, but it seems same problem persists. So I am now stuck with this error that I cannot move to my next task. Please help me figure out on what went wrong.

Thanks.

Dear Janesprant,

I have read out your problem just now. There are some steps.

Please do the following as I say:

> Go to start menu and select run command.

> When ‘Run” window will open, type eventvwr.msc there and press enter. Event viewer will be opened.

> Event errors Microsoft Development Environment" and Event="1001". will be shown there in this window.

> In the bucket folder, you will see the crush ID no.

> Send this to Microsoft Corporation and they will send you a file with what to do in your mail address.

Hope this will work

Thank you

Hi there,

The problem that you are having is an access violation issues in the MS SQL server oledb service.

Microsoft has released a patch for solve the problem, the fix will receive additional testing, but you should be okay with the released patch. It is recommended you wait for the next service pack release for the MS data access components that contains a fully updated patch to remedy the problem
