Hi Jesse Knight,

This file may not be a valid audio file or it may be a protected file. Some audio sources may protect their files to limit usage to their own applications. If you can send Photodex a short sample of a 3gp file that consistently does not work,I'm sure they would be interested in either fixing the bug if it is or being able to tell you what is wrong with the file the Producer does not like.Or you can convert them to MP3.Many folks use audacity-a free program to convert or switch sound file converter from download.com.It works great with MP3.

I thought you were uploading the video on a website. If you were just trying to load and edit the video in ProShow Producer, first, check that the source video originally has a sound and that you can hear it when you play it on a media player.

If the file or the source file is a 3GP video then there should be no problem because the file format is supported as input. Supported input file formats include the following:

  • AVI – Windows video file (*.avi)
  • EXE – Windows executable application (*.exe)
  • SCR – Windows screen saver (*.scr)
  • MPG – MPEG-1/MPEG-2 video file (*.mpg)
  • MP4 – MPEG-4 video file (*.mp4)
  • WMV – Windows video (*.wmv)
  • MOV – QuickTime video (*.mov)
  • FLV – flash video (*.flv)
  • ISO – DVD/Blu-ray/AVCHD image file (*.iso)
  • CUE – video CD cue/bin image (*.cue)
  • PX – streaming web show (*.px)
  • 3GP – video for phones (*.3gp)

If the video doesn’t have sound when playing it in ProShow Producer, check that the source video is using a supported audio codec. By default, ProShow Producer supports the following audio codec:

  • OGG – Ogg Vorbis audio (*.ogg)
  • MP3 – MPEG-3 audio file (*.mp3)
  • WAV – Windows sound (*.wav)
  • WMA – Windows audio file (*.wma)
  • M4A – MPEG-4 audio file

Note: ProShow Producer can support many additional formats by installing proper codec for that format. If your source video doesn’t use a supported audio codec, convert the video with a supported video and audio codec and then edit it in ProShow Producer.
