Having trouble to link computers with Apple Airport Extreme Base station

Hi,

Recently we have shifted our office. We are 200+ users including Mac+PC.

We are using airport extreme base station, for our WiFi network. It worked very well in our previous office.  Our previous office was a three storey building and the new office is on the first floor with 5000 Sqft.  The new office is quite open and big.

We installed our Airport Extreme Base Station in the middle of our office, but the signal strength is very low and all the 200+ computers are unable to connect with the WiFi.

I'm not sure, but in the new office there is some obstacles room wise, which might be the reason why we are not getting a signal.

Need suggestions to get a WiFi connection smoothly. It will be very much helpful.

Regards,

Masuda.

Hi Masuda,

Hope you are doing well. I believe that you are having issues with your wireless connection via your Airport Extreme Base Station. According the Airport Extreme documentation, the device can give up to 50 simultaneous connections at a time, for it to work optimal. If we go beyond that connection the speed changes, transfer rates, browsing becomes slow. Those are a few of the things that is affecting your network.

These are some more to consider: Make sure Drivers / firmware for your Airport Extreme Base Station is up to date. Make sure all of your wireless cards in your desktops and laptops are also up to date.

Check for interference in your office area. Walls, microwave signals, wireless phone signals affects or interferes with your wireless connection.

You can consider on changing channels on your Apple Extreme Base Station settings. You may also consider switching to N wireless adapters for desktops and laptops making your connection faster at the same time or deploying wireless extenders or setting up more access points, spread out in your office.

You may use Netgear devices to match your Apple device. You may choose any of these options, whichever fits your budget.

This will help you to have a better network connection.

Hi,

If you have changed your nature of connection recently, you may need to make a change in Internet Explorer.

Go to Tools >

Internet Options > Connection > LAN Settings and see if

Automatically Detect Settings is selected.

Let me know if this helps.
