Having problem with opening new Tab in Firefox 8.0

Hi,

I got a problem with Tab options. When I open a new Tab, I am not seeing the newer tab. While using FF 3.6 & 4.0, a new Tab automatically appeared to the right side of the active Tab, when I opened a new site. But now it is not working automatically rather I have to do it manually. So, I checked out the tab settings in OPTIONS and found no problems there. So now the only options I had to manually select "New Tab" if I wanted to open a new tab. It's really frustrating not opening a new site into a new tab when it is selected in OPTIONS, instead it opens in the current tab, so it's overriding the tab I am using.

What could be the solution for this problem? Thanks in advance & takes my regards.

– Always keep your Firefox up to date. Firefox has latest versions out which will solve most of the issues you are facing. Every new release comes with number of fixes. FF 11 is the latest version out.

– Try and see if the Firefox does the same in safe mode as well.

This is how you start your Firefox in safe mode:

Launch Firefox, Goto Help menu and click on '"Restart with add- ons disabled"

Alternatively, you can start Firefox in safe mode by holding down the shift key when launching firefox.

– It can also be an issue with the Google toolbar. You may need to switch to some other version of google toolbar from the one which you have.  Google tool bar  version 3.1 works fine on my Firefox. Once you have done this , it should be possible to open New tab using Ctrl +T shortcut and New tab option as well.
