I have already been able to use a thumb drive to boot a windows setup. The question I want to ask is whether it is possible to do the same thing with two operating systems on the same thumb drive. Also, I was wondering if I successfully install any of these software will it be working properly.

Hello,

Installation of OS using USB drive is the easiest and fastest way to install any OS. But installing several OS isn’t possible within one drive.

For example, if you want to install Windows, you have to make a bootable USB from Windows installation source. If Linux is your target, then the Linux’s ISO is the source. You can’t deploy both installer in same USB. That won’t boot your device.

But there’re installers that contains several version of Windows installed; for example, you can get such CD/DVD from Microsoft that have Windows 8.1 Pro/Enterprise 32-bit and 64-bit installer both or more. Such is possible to retrieve but only one OS from the list will be installed.
