Hello everyone! I have installed a router at my home that also acts as a hardware firewall for home network, but I want to know how it works? It usually connect to 3 laptops in my home; will it protect all the three of them?

Hardware Firewall For Home Network Working

First of all, yes it will protect all the devices connected to the router at your home. Your router functions as a firewall in the following manner: It uses Network address translation (NAT) to distribute the IP address provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), but the router doesn’t know to which device the data should be transferred. So, the NAT acts as a firewall by preventing the messages from reaching to your computer.

You can also change the router settings to block some specific type of messages.
