Hard drive failure when I save my file

Hi techy guys,

I am working with my monthly report using MS Word and MS Excel, when I want to save my files an error message appeared on my screen, I pasted below the whole screen shot for reference.

Hard Drive Failure

The system has detected a problem with one or more installed IDE/SATA hard disks.

It is recommended that you restart the system.

When I read the error message, on my little understanding there are some failures with my hard drives, I followed the instruction that was started  to restart my computer, but same thing happens when I save my files, same error appeared, I scan my computer for some viruses, that might block the saving process, but no virus was found, I am now wondering about this error,

Please help me find some solutions, more power and thanks a lot.

Dear Judithmads

This error shows that your hard drive will have problem and may be there is a bad sector on your drive. Anyway there are three possible solutions for this error.

  1. You will run System File Checker on your system; it will replace the missing or corrupt files.Click start and then press RUNand type sfc /scannow and press enter
  2. Try to save your file with different file name and change the saving location i.e if you are saving your file in C drive and getting an error then save your file in D drive.
  3. Open My Computer and right click on C drive then ‘properties’ then ‘tools’ then press ‘check now’ and scan your hard drive thoroughly.

You should check all your drives according to point (3.) and restart your system.

Take care

Kate

Oh my!

That’s a big problem indeed BUT you should worry NO MORE as you were just been victimized by a fake rogue antispyware or a fake computer analysis and optimization program which prompts fake alert message and to worry you that you are infected by a nasty Trojan virus and let you purchase they’re offered anti-virus program.

Some of this fake antispyware are Windows Diagnostic, System repair, Windows Easy Warden and the likes.

Follow these steps below to remove it.

  1. Download first ieplore.exe or rkill on this link http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.exe and download the latest version of malwarebytes on they’re website http://www.malwarebytes.org
  2. If you can’t download on your PC then try other PC with internet connection and download the 2 files and save it in your USB. Note: Don’t place it in a folder just send the exe file direct to your USB.
  3. Now run the RKILL or iexplore.exe you downloaded. This will stop all processes of those fake rogue antispyware. DO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AFTER THIS PROCESS IS FINISHED.
  4. Now install malwarebytes, and perform a quick scan. Restart your PC afterwards.
  5. Now those fake antispyware is gone and so was the error you encountered.
