Hello, to start with, you have certain precautions to follow/ you must uninstall EZScan. Furthermore, you must delete the EZ Scan folder in “My Documents.” Also, reboot the PC. The detailed procedure is given below:

  • From the greamerica.com official site, download EZScanDGInstall_v1.08. Create a folder and save it in it. Also, unzip the downloaded file in that folder.
  • Boot your system into the “Options” menu. For this, either click on the “Power” button or press the “Shift” key while clicking “Restart” or “Run.”
  • After entering into the “Options Menu”, click on “Troubleshoot” and then hit “Advanced options.”
  • Next, select “Advanced Options.”
  • Click on “Startup Settings” if you wish to change the behavior of Windows Startup. Click on restart or reboot on the next page.
  • A menu with nine selections appears. Press 7/F7 to “Disable Driver Signature enforcement”. The computer will restart.
  • Run the executable file EZScanDGInstall v1.08.exe.
  • Connect your PSR-800 scanner to your PC. Wait till the default driver installation completes which you can check when a file explorer window with the scanner SD card pops up.
  • Connect the scanner driver. From the Device Manager, look for the extra USB Communications Port under “Ports (COM&LPT).”
  • To update the driver, follow this procedure.
    • Click on “Driver” tab.
    • Now, click on”Update Driver.”
    •  Then, go to “Browse my computer for driver software.”
    • Click on “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.”
    • And, “GRECOM PSR-800 Serial Device.”
    • Finally, “Next.”
  • If you cannot see “GRECOM PSR-800 Serial Device” as one of the options, go back and select “Browse for driver software on your computer”, to type this file path: C:\Windows\Inf\GRECOM_PSR-800.inf. Finally, click on “Next.”
  • In the warning screen about unsigned drivers, select the unsigned driver option as PSR-800 driver is unsigned.
  • Repeat driver installation steps for each physical USB port on your system.

If you have a GRE PSR-800 scanner, just download the driver and install it so you can connect it to your computer. Go to GRE PSR-800 to get the latest driver. The driver should work until Microsoft Windows 7. For users who want to install it on Microsoft Windows 10, you might have a little problem but there is a workaround that will allow you to install it.

First, download the driver from the link above and unpack the ZIP file. Next, restart your computer then press F8 before the Windows logo appears. In “Advanced Boot Options” screen, select “Troubleshoot”, “Advanced options”, “Startup Settings” then select to restart the computer. Next, select “Disable Driver Signature enforcement”. Windows will restart again. After booting, install the driver you downloaded and run the application after installing it.

Update it to version 1.9 Bld 301. After this, connect your PSR-800 scanner to your computer then wait for the default driver installation. Now, you need to correct the scanner driver. Right-click “Computer” then select “Properties”. Select “Device Manager” on the left pane. Expand “Ports (COM & LPT)” then look for the extra “USB Communications Port” assigned to the scanner.

Double-click it to open the “Properties”. In the “Properties” dialog, go to “Driver” tab then click “Update Driver”. Select “Browse my computer for driver software”, “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”, “GRECOM PSR-800 Serial Device” then “Next”.

On the next screen, if you don’t see the message “GRECOM PSR-800 Serial Device”, go back one screen and select “Browse for driver software on your computer”. Now, enter without quotes “C:\Windows\Inf\GRECOM_PSR-800.inf” then click “Next”. If you are prompted to install the unsigned driver, click “Yes” to install the unsigned driver.

To verify that the installation is successful, you should see “GRECOM PSR-800 Serial Device” under “Ports (COM & LPT)” in the Device Manager.
