Hi all

I am using Dell laptop NVS 4200M with an i7 CPU and OS windows 7. I have been trying to install the GPU computing sdk to get started with writing a software. When I started the installation process, I got an error on my screen saying:

"Setup has experienced a problem
Please do the following
-Close any running program
-Empty your temporary folder
-Check your internet connection

Then try to run Setup again

Error code: -6005

The screenshot of the error is attached below:

I tried the above mentioned all three options and also rebooted my system many times but unfortunately the problem could not be solved.

Can anyone please help me in solving the problem? I'll be really obliged.

Waiting for your replies

Kind regards

Jennifer

Hello Anna,

I will strongly suggest that you get a program called CCleaner and install it on your computer and then use it to clear all the temporary files as well as fix registry problems on your computer that may be causing that problem. You can get CCleaner for free on the internet.

Other things you will need to do are:

  • Make sure that you have strong internet connection if the installation requires to go online to get some files there and install them during the installation process.
  • Terminate any programs that may be interfering with the installation. Open the task manager and end the programs from there. You might as well just restart the computer.

Regards,

Carl

Hello dear,

Concerning your problem, I think that this type of problem is caused by the malicious and viruses. In this case, boot time scan may prove helpful. Or you can do the scan in safe mood. Please follow the steps:

1. Restart your computer

2. While booting, press F8 for going to the safe mood. In some computer, the safe mood can be obtained by pressing the ‘DEL’ button

3. It will take some time to go to the safe mood

4. You should remember that, in safe mood, as all programs remain stop, so no virus can interrupt your removal action

5. Run a scan in safe mood.

After that, close all the programs in normal mode and continue installation process

Hope this problem will not occur again
