This is a good question and it will be quite interesting to answer it. Google+ is the social networking platform introduced by Google. Google+ is built as a competition to Facebook. Google has introduced similar sites like Google Wave and Google buzz in the past which have not been very successful. But this time, they have put in a great effort and value to Google+ as a result of which, the number of users has been increasing day by day.
Google treats Google+ as its project rather than a product. Google has done really a good job by integrating various applications like Picasa, Gmail and Google Maps so that you don’t need to log in separately to share photos with your friends, send emails, search for places on the web and socialize at the same time. Google+ is social networking site and it is same as facebook.but only difference is you can have one account which you can use in any Google product like Google earth, Google map ,Google photos etc.google is now became a big competitor to facebook.hope this fulfill your question.
The Google is going to create a new social network called Google+, 1st there have a circle it is similar to Facebook Status but this is special because we can put a status to specific group by using this circle.
And another option in hangouts by using this we can do video conference another option is again similar to Facebook Instant Upload we can upload our photos to the profile next option is Spark this is same as a Google Advance search last option is Huddle by using this we can enter to group chat with our friends

Google has launched a new social networking website called Google plus or G+. it is very much like Facebook or MySpace as a networking site. This service was launched by Google Inc. on June 28, 2011.

It has Huddle( for Android, iPhone), Circles( to organize contacts), Hangouts( for video chatting), Sparks(search options). It is similar to Facebook in style but yet to be organized in Facebook style. Check the links below to know more about this service:
