Sir, I am getting a problem during windows update every time I open it for updating. I am getting a message “Windows could not search for updates”. With error code 800700C1”. So what should I do to get rid of this?

To get rid of this problem, just open the cmd for your PC

And type the below mentioned comments serially and press enter.

  1. net stop wuauser
  2. rmdir /s %windir%\softwaredistribution\wuredir
  3. net start wuauserv

After this try updating again,you are not expected to get any error now.
