FrostWire was unable to initialize and start

I had been using FrostWire for a lot of time for downloading music and such things but 2 days before it gave me an error when I tried to launch it. Error is

FrostWire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually due to a firewall

program blocking FrostWire’s access to the internet or loopback connection on

the local machine. Please allow FrostWire access to the internet and restart

FrostWire.

I did not do anything new on my PC. My Firewall is disabled as it was before when I used this program. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Frostwire but all in vain.  I am using Windows XP with Java 6. Someone please help me getting my software back.

Hi,

your firewall has blocked the frostwire to access the internet for the installation and start.so make sure that your firewall should be off and see the properties of that's software, make sure that it allowed to connect to internet.

Thanks,

Anilkumar.

Hello Stan,

Even if you disabled your firewall it still blocking ports by default, So might as well know the port of Frostwire and Enable your firewall and add it as exception.

Also if nothing above works try using "Cabos" its more or less like Frostwire and its also in the same network "Gnutella" . Its easy to install and has a very small size.

You can download it here: https://ja.osdn.net/projects/cabos/releases/

If you have a router put the ports that Frostwire is using so that it would route packets there.

I hope this helps

Thank You!
