Hi,

This can be a compatibility issue. There are statements of Windows 8 not being complete yet and a beta version might be released. It can also be a problem with the Firefox update. Have you tried using a later version again? You can try installing a previous version of Firefox first and see if that works. You can also try a Firefox clean install. Just uninstall Firefox, restart the computer and reinstall it gain. Disabling other software including the security software when installing will help since they sometimes get in the way of proper installation. If none of this works you may have to format your OS but if you can try it on a another profile or on another OS first, that’ll help determine where the problem lies especially since a plug in is also not working.

Try to use another browser like Google Chrome of Internet Explorer. If still run slow using them, the problem is on your internet connection. But if the other browser runs well, really the problem is in the firefox that you updated. I have some solutions that you can try like, try to clear all the history of the browser, some problem like that is because of uncleared history that makes browser runs slow. If the problem still did not solved, try to again install the old version of the firefox then update it again, or you can try to upgrade the firefox by just download the installer then install it to your computer. Don't do update, because maybe there are some problem with using update. Good luck.
