Explorer.EXE System Call Failed Error when opening a folder

Help! I am trying to open any folder from my Start Menu but all just result to the error listed below:

Explorer.EXE

System call failed.

I'm running a Windows 7 PC and I recently set up some software on it. It was working fine last night but when I opened it today, the error just continuously appears when trying to open a folder. Can someone help?

Hi. Have you tried going to your Task Manager to end some processes there? Go to your Task Manager then Processes Tab and try to end anything with explorer.exe on it. After this, click on File and New Task. Type explorer.exe. Or a simple restart of your system can also fix the issue and it is much safer.
