Eudora for Mac OSx Mountain Lion won’t work

Asked By 20 points N/A Posted on -

I use Eudora 6.2.4 for my email needs because of its ability to display animated GIF images in HTML messages when I was in OSx Snow Leopard.  I am now on OSx Mountain Lion and Eudora for Mac won't function anymore.  Doesn't Mountain Lion have support for Eudora?

Eudora for Mac OSx Mountain Lion won’t work

Hello Davis,

Hey Eudora is now not supported by the new versions of the MAC OS, that is MAC Mountain Lion. Well if you have important contacts on Eudora you can copy them to Mac's built in mail software.

1. Go to documents folder, now locate and copy whole eudora folder.

2. Paste it on to your new desktop.

3. Open Mac built in Mail app(Stamp icon in the dock), now setup an email with mac mail.

Now at the top menu bar click on file > Import mailboxes > select eudora > browse to eudora's folder. That's it now MAC mail will import eudora mails in it.

If you are using Eudora as your email client but it is no longer working properly on OS X Mountain Lion but it is working on OS X Snow Leopard before, try reinstalling the application. Move the Eudora installation folder to trash and install Eudora again. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, just use Mozilla Thunderbird.

Eudora has been a Qualcomm product for many years and Eudora 6.2.4 is the last version to be released by Qualcomm. Eudora is now based on Mozilla Thunderbird.

According to an October 11, 2006 post on the Qualcomm website, “Qualcomm announced the final release of the commercial version of Eudora, as well as the transition of the product to open source under the Mozilla Foundation. Qualcomm continued to contribute resources to the development of the project called Eudora OSE until its launch in September 2010.”

For more information, you can visit Eudora OSE. Download the latest Mozilla Thunderbird for Mac as an alternative to Eudora email client. You can also visit Mozilla Thunderbird Localized for a localized version of the Mozilla Thunderbird email client according to your language and operating system. Mozilla Thunderbird is available for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux.
