ERROR_PATCH_REMOVAL_DISALLOWED 1649 Patch removal was disallowed by policy. Available beginning with Windows Installer version 3.0.
I was just updating every program that needs update in my laptop including the OS and the anti-virus itself. Until I got this Windows Error 1649[0x80070671] The Error Message says:
Update removal was disallowed by policy.
After closing that message my computer froze for a while for about 5 minutes.
What could be wrong?

Hello Olivia,
That could be happening because the antivirus that you are using or the firewall is blocking the execution of the application that is bringing the issue. I will therefore suggest that you add the application to exception both on the antivirus and the firewall and then retry running the update again.

This error comes from another program trying to block an installation process. This may be due to several causes such as a firewall program or an antivirus program. To resolve the issue, try closing your antivirus and firewall programs during installation, and after opening the firewall, choose Ignore.
