Hi,

When I try to uninstall an AutoCAD based product, I find the following error message:

AutoCAD Map 3D 2011

Error 1402. Could not open key:

Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Hey Kenny!

Here i have a solution for you. What you need to do is just to follow these steps.

1. Click on Start Button and go to Run. Type here regedit and press enter.

2. It will open registry editor. On the left pane go to the following path by expanding the (+) sign.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Installer > User Data > S-1-5-18 > Components

3. Once you reached there now select "Permission" by pressing right click on "Components.

4. Once it opens, now click on the Advance Tab.

5. Here you can see "Owner" tab. Click on it.

6. In the "Change owner to" section you have to select Administrators and then press Apply button.

7. Here you can see "Replace owner on sub containers and objects" Check its box and press the Apply button.

8. Now click on "Permission" tab, here you will see "Replace all child objects Permissions with inheritable permissions from this object", check its box and press the Apply button.

Thanks
