Dear Charmaine hollman,

You encounter this problem prior to a windows update. To resolve this issue, you have 2 options according to vmware knowledge base page. You might remove the update from your Windows OS and the vSphere client should probably work with no problem.

Another resolution is to download and install vSphere Client update 1 or 2 depending on your environment. You don't need to download the entire vSphere suite, you only need the vSphere client. You can determine the version of the vSphere client by reviewing the build number in the file viclient.log to determine which update you need. This file is located under VMwarevpx.

Hope this may help you.

Best of luck.
