Error in uploading a long video in YouTube

I have a video that I wish to upload on YouTube but the problem is that it is around 35 minutes long more than double the limit of 15 minutes allowed by YouTube. I increased the limit and then uploaded the video but the message," Rejected.Length of video too long" appeared on the screen in the Video Manager. How can this matter be solved? Will I have to upload the video again? Can you let me know if there are any copyright claims or such issues involved in this case?

Hello,

You can be rest assured that there is no licensing issues involved, especially if you have verified your mobile number to increase the video size limit.

The problem seems to be with the YouTube Uploader which is causing this particular problem for a lot of other people. The possible causes could be:

  1. YouTube’s servers are constantly busy and hence the bottleneck in uploading long videos
  2. The connection from your side may be slow, which causes the upload to timeout

You could try to convert the video into a format which reduces the file size. This will ensure that uploading takes a shorter time.

On YouTube, the maximum length of the video you can upload is 15 minutes and that’s by default. If you want to extend or increase this limit, a verified account is needed. This means you simply need to verify your account so the limit can be increased. You can use a computer, Android, iPhone, or iPad to verify your account.

To verify your account using a computer, go to Upload – YouTube. At the bottom of the page, look for and click “Increase your limit”. If you don’t see this, like mine, it means your account is already verified. You can also go directly to Account verification – YouTube to verify your account. Follow the steps to verify your account.

You can select to receive the verification code through text message on a mobile phone or through an automated voice call. Once your account is verified, you can now upload longer videos. Also, make sure your web browser is the latest so you can upload videos bigger than 20 GB.
