Hello,

I have Windows 98 and Microsoft Office 97 installed in my PC. Sometimes when I start Microsoft Word I receive the error “winword hpbf3120.drv at 0010000068b0” followed by the program closing. The problem still exists after I reinstall Microsoft Office 97.

Can you please let me know if this problem has something to do with my operating system or Office 97?

If you have an HP printer, download and install the newest driver for your printer and this should solve the problem. Below are the steps on how to install newest driver for your printer.

  • Check the model number of your HP printer ( It is usually located on the front part of your printer )
  • Go to this website – https://support.hp.com/us-en/
  • Click on Drivers and Software button
  • Type in the model number of your printer then click on Search
  • Select the your Language and your Operating System
  • Select the latest version then click on Download button
  • Click on Save File button
  • Wait for the download to complete
  • After download has completed, Click on the Start Menu
  • Click on Control Panel
  • Click on System and Security then click on Device Manager
  • On the Device Manager window look for your HP printer on the list, right-click then select update driver
