Error popping up after installing the Windows in Dell inspiron N5050

Hi fellows,

I have recently purchased a dell inspiron N5050 system, and I am really excited.

I installed the windows successfully, but after logging in, an error pops up on the screen.

The screenshot of the error is attached below:

Connection Error

There was a problem connecting to the server. Please check your

connection and try again later.

Refresh

It is an incomplete sort of a message. I don’t understand which application is causing this message to appear and which server is it trying to connect to?

My internet connection is perfectly fine and clicking the refresh button is useless.

Nothing happens.

I have also seen in the event viewer, but found nothing.

Any suggestions please?

Does it have something to do with any software already installed?

If yes, what application can be uninstalled?

Kindly help me out please. Waiting for your replies.

Regards.

Hi,

In the first place I don't understand why you needed to reinstall Windows on a new computer as you should have had it installed in the shop initially. Anyway, you need to check which version of Windows you are using. Can be a bundle of issues normally starting from fault installation, bugging , etc. Most problems with connection I have heard of are with Windows 7. If this is the case I think find the best drivers, uninstall and install the new ones and you should have fixed the error. If it is Windows XP very probably means there is a bug in the system, try  service pack 2, Microsoft patch KB884020 and make up a fix reg file. When you install the file, hopefully you'll get rid of the error message.
