Hello John,

You want to undertake these steps in getting your iOS6. The backing up via iTunes is in fact an incredible effective way.

1st Open your iTunes the updated ones 10.7.

2nd You make a backup on your iPhone, iPad or iCloud on Macbook (just choose one for backup) that failed iOS6 update before.

3rd Restore the update on your iTunes to previous backup then you will find the iOS6 updated.

4th Then lastly connect to iPhone, iPad or iCloud on Macbook and it will restore your information.

Downloaded and installed iOS6.

It’s not clear if you updated your iPhone’s operating system using iTunes or via OTA or over-the-air. If you used OTA, try restarting your phone then try updating again. Before starting the OTA update, check if you have a strong signal so you will have a stable connection during the downloading.

If you have a weak signal, you probably need to transfer to a different location where there is strong signal and then begin the OTA update. Since the update file is considerably big, make sure your phone is fully charged or still has plenty of battery because it may take some time to finish the download and when it completes, that’s the only time the actual updating of the operating system will take place.

If you are using iTunes for the update, you need to have the latest version. Download the latest version, Download iTunes 12.1. For Windows, it requires Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. If you are using 64-bit operating system, visit iTunes 12.1 64-bit. It requires 64-bit Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.

The 64-bit installer is not compatible or does not support Microsoft Windows XP. Once downloaded, uninstall your current iTunes then install version 12.1. Connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable then start iTunes. Select your device then start the update.
