Hi folks,

I am using Sybase. A while ago, I got this error.
I pasted below the exact screen shot for reference.
The module “c:windowssystem32richtx32.ocx” was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x8002801c.

RegSvr32
The module “c:windowssystem32richtx32.ocx” was
loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with
error code 0x8002801c.
For more information about this problem, search online
using the code as a search term.
This error displayed is not in an exact pattern. I don't know, what specific task to do. It just appears any time. I tried to restart my computer and boot again, same error was met. On my frustration, I stopped working and continued with other task which is creating a report for my presentation.
After adding some photos and audio to my presentation, suddenly the error was displayed on my screen. I am now wondering, why it appeared again. Will this error affected all my applications?
Thank you.

Dear Jerrytoms,

This is a common error and mostly appears when you uninstall some programs from your computer which uses registry services. Try these to steps and check if it helps.

Step-1:

  • Reregister the corrupted file.
  • Click Start and then press RUN and type cmd and press enter.
  • Type regsvr32 richtx32.ocx and press enter.

Step-2:

  • You will also run System File Checker on your system, it will replace the missing or corrupt files.
  • Click Start and then press RUN and type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • If the above steps don’t help, then you can restore your system point.

Choose a system restore point:

1. From the Desktop click start button.
2. In the Search Field type (system restore) and press enter.
3. When system restores open, select the option “choose a different restore point” and press next.

On next screen, choose restore point. When you select the restore point, click next, then select finish, this will start the restore process and after restarting the machine, your system will be running smoothly.

Hope your problem will get resolved.

Benth.
