I am migrating from Microsoft Dynamics GP 9 Service Pack 3 to MS Dynamics 2010 R2 for building a test environment.Â
When done with the upgrade, I logged on to GP but received the error below:
Microsoft Dynamics GP
You’re attempting to log in from a data source using a trusted connection. Update the SQL Server settings for this data source to disable trusted connections and try logging in again.
Have I missed something during the migration?
Kindly please send me some ideas.
Thanks.
Error in migrating MS Dynamics GP
Dear Dominic lowe
According to Microsoft support page, this problem has several causes. One cause is that by default, MSDE (Microsoft SQL Server Engine) installs Windows Authentication mode and Microsoft Dynamics GP needs both Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication, try to check the authentication mode that was originally installed. Another cause is that the ODBC system DSN (Data Source Name) might be not using SQL Server Authentication which is needed by Microsoft Dynamics GP; you need then to check your ODBC connection. The third cause of this problem may occur because of the upgrade process you did, it may be that the user ID contains some uppercase characters and you entered it in a lowercase letters, you need to check the password. For more details of the resolution of these causes, please consider visiting the following link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/869956/error-message-when-you-try-to-start-microsoft-dynamics-gp-you-are-atte
