Does anyone know how to solve an “Accounting” error with Peachtree Complete 2012? I just got the product and I installed it, and I encountered no problems. But I can’t seem to open it, I just get an error saying the Peachtree is unable to connect to its database.
I have the complete detail of the error below.
* Peachtree Accounting
Peachtree is unable to connect to its database, Pervasive, on computer JOSE-PC.
Make sure the computer is logged in or that the database service is running. Also make sure the firewall is set to allow Peachtree and Pervasive to run. Click Help for more information. Click Retry to attempt to connect again.
I hope someone can fix this.
Thank you!

You can try with a 2008/2009 version to upload and update to that version. Then you have to make a backup you can bring into your later version. Perhaps, you may have to do it 2006 to 2008 and 2008 to 2010 or 11.
I think the latest versions can read 2008.
Actually, Peachtree requires the basic networking infrastructure. To finds its data on a local network. Your software is working from the internet or the Cloud. We know Cloud is good place for users to go when; they do not want to do basic networking in their office.
However, your local network does not have a DNS server running on a local server; usually MS Windows Server 2008R2.
Thats result is call a peer-to-peer network. Microsoft allows the Workstations on the peer-to-peer network.
This is for communicate and discover.
