Hi,

I want to show the shape fill toolbox and select the color for objects. Will writing VBA code help? Power Point 2003 allows me to drag the shape fill box to choose colours. However, I have a Power Point 2007 file and when I tried to open the same in my computer which has MS –Office 2003, it did not open and gave some error message like ‘cannot read the file as no converter available’. Please help me solve this problem.

Hi,

As per all office products, you cannot open / edit the files created in newer version of office, while using the older versions. Like your example, a file created in power point 2007 (newer version) cannot be opened in power point 2003 (older version).

To perform this function, you have to do either of the following:

1-      Open the file in power point 2007, and save as power point 2003 version.

1-      Second and a better option is that you download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats. And install it on the computer where office 2003 is installed.

The download link for the compatibility pack is:
