I cannot update the databases of my Kaspersky. Old database still shows. Is there a way to manually update it, copy files to certain folders like that?

I have read something about editing the C:Program FilesKaspersky LabKaspersky Administration KitSharePackagesKavWks 6.0.4.1212execkav6mp4.kpd

Hello Olivia,

I will suggest that you try exiting all processes being run by the Kaspersky antivirus in the task manager, and then after that restart it, and then try running the update again.

If you still get the issue then it is more likely that the antivirus database is corrupt, and therefore you will need reinstall it to get rid of the bugs.

Regards,

Nicke

I saw on your post the error log 1637 which says that the Windows service is unable to process the update or package, and it also indicated to update that windows service. I would suggest first to update your operating system to the latest service pack, security update, and other necessary packages as this would help handle the update for your Kaspersky.

Like what most antivirus do, when you update your antivirus the interface or the antivirus panel will show you that the update is successful showing the date and time of the successful update. But if this is not happening in your antivirus and you cannot update it, the program is probably in error. Probably, one or more of its files are corrupt.

To fix your problem download Revo Uninstaller Freeware then unpack the file with 7-Zip. Use the supplied password to unpack. Run the setup file to install Revo Uninstaller then use it to uninstall Kaspersky. It may prompt you to restart the computer then just do so. Next, go to Download Free CCleaner then download and install it on your computer.

Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system. Restart your computer afterwards. After booting, install Kaspersky back and then update it after the installation. This should fix the problem. To register CCleaner, download CCleaner Registration Codes then unpack the file with 7-Zip. Use the supplied password to unpack. Open “license-keys_readme.txt” with Notepad and follow the instructions to register CCleaner.

Aside from using Kaspersky, you may also try ESET NOD32 8 Antivirus or ESET Smart Security 8.
