Error in installing SCCM 2012

Asked By 20 points N/A Posted on -

I have a SCCM 2007 which is installed for evaluation purposes only. I never used it so I decided to uninstall it. I also attempt to install SCCM 2012 but half way through the process of installation, while I am about to enter the Server and the database name, I received the following error message:

Configuration Manager

Configuration Manager sites require a supported SQL Server version with required hotfixes for site database operations to succeed. Before Setup can continue, you must install a supported version of SQL Server on the specified site database server. For more information, see

Please tell me how to fix it. Thanks.

Error in installing SCCM 2012

Installing System Center Configuration Manager 2012 requires a SQL Server Database. Assuming you are running SQL Server 2008 R2, you need at least a SP1 with cumulative update 6 or you will receive the error you got. The possible way to resolve this is to install the Service Pack 2.
