I need to configure VMware View Event database but always end up with the error posted below.

I was attempting to configure it but the Admin UI is not working.

The username and password that I have inserted is correct and I also tried to disable my Firewall.

How can I troubleshoot the error?

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure port 1433 is open. To test this, refer to this site.
  2. Do you know whether the SQL binary runs on Windows Server 2008? If yes disable, User Account Control. Refer to this link: User Account Control Step by Step Guide
  3. Make sure that the SQL Server authentication is selected. Enforce password policy is not selected for the View Events database log
  4. Empty the SQL Server Configuration Manager TCP Dynamic Ports field:
  • To do this go to Start> All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Configuration Manager
  • Go to SQL Server Network Configuration, choose Protocols
  • Go to the properties of TCP/IP by right clicking on it
  • Choose IP Address
  • Delete the field for TCP Dynamic Ports
  • The port number for this SQL server instance should be set to 1433
  • SQL server restart

There are other methods that you can check this site, includes these as well as the steps mentioned above in more detail:

Good luck!
