Hi community people,

I am using Microsoft Outlook and I want to configure it on Exchange POP3. Whenever I try to configure it on Exchange POP3, a window opens which is shown below:

Internet Security Warning

I get this error:

Internet Security Warning

The server you are connected to is using a security certificate

that cannot be verified.

The target principal name is incorrect.

                         View Certificate…

Do you want to continue using this server?

                      Yes            No

I am unable to understand the root cause of this problem.

Has anybody else been facing such a problem?

Any kind of views will be appreciated.

Hello Claire,

One thing you should completely avoid is never to download as well as install anything on your PC unless you know and trust it, and also trust where you are downloading it from.

If your computer is brand new, you will need to contact the manufacturer support team and inform them about the issue and see if they will give you help.

Otherwise, you will need to check if the issue happens when you are using Windows Live Mail which you can download from the following link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/18614/windows-essentials

Also check to make sure that the system as well as security tools on your computer are up to date.

Regards,

Carl

Hello,

This error is caused because of the clash between SSL and Port number in your account settings.

Go to ”Account Settings”, click on “Advanced tab”, and check your ports for incoming and outgoing servers.

Internet E-mail Setting

Verify they are correct, if your hosting plan is shared then use “secure##.inmotionhosting.com” (replace## with your server number).

Use SSL enables options; in case ports are blocked then use non SSL ports.

Some of the correct ports are:-

Non-SSL incoming POP: 110

Non-SSL incoming IMAP: 143

Non-SSL outgoing SMTP: 587

SSL enabled incoming POP: 995

SSL enabled incoming IMAP: 993

SSL enabled outgoing SMTP: 465

Hope that works!
