I’m not sure this will happen if your computer is really connected to the internet. If this is the first time that this happens, close the application and restart the computer. Open Tally again. If it throws the same network connection error, check the network cable at the back of your CPU.

Disconnect the cable from the network port and then connect it back. Try Tally again. If this doesn’t work, try reinstalling Tally. Uninstall Tally then click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and then click OK. Check “Temporary files” and “Setup log” then click OK.

Restart your computer when it is finished then install Tally back. If the problem continues, it is maybe because of too much users accessing the site. I learned that in 2012 because it is a leap year, Tally license automatically shifted to Educational Mode which supposedly not happen. And because of this issue, some of the users are receiving the same error that Tally could not connect to the Tally server to complete the operation.

This is because of too many users trying to find help on their problem. That’s why, if you are still receiving this, it is possible that the website or the server is experiencing heavy traffic. Try it some other time if it is not that important.
