Hi.

I bought Windows 7 CD and trying to upgrade from Vista x64-bit Ultimate Edition but after 15 % installation, it gives an error code 80070570.

I don't know what this error is about but every time I try to upgrade, I face the similar problem. Its frustrating me. Can someone give me direction as to what the possible problem could be.

Hello,

I understand it's quite frustrating when things are not going right. I'll give you a medicine to cure this problem.

Error 8007057 is caused by incompatibility with your Random Access Memory. Things to do;

  • Insert Windows 7 upgraded DVD in the CD ROM;
  • Reboot computer, boot off DVD;
  • A step by step will guide you on the installation;
  • Once Windows has been set-up, run Windows Update and download any available updates.
  • Reboot computer and restart it back;
  • Activate your Windows in the utility, type product key and then activate your Windows.
  • These steps should let you install your Windows.

Hi Norman,

Lets try the following steps:

  • Copy the windows 7 DVD contents to the hard drive. If able to copy successfully it means that  windows 7 files are good and able to read and no file corruption. If unable to copy DVD media is corrupt.
  • Run the upgrade setup from inside the Windows Vista by clicking on the file Setup.exe.
  • Another option is you can boot from the Windows 7 DVD and start the upgrade.

Possible cause of file unable to process the file to due read problem.

Hope this works out for you.

Regards,

Vistashen
