Hello! What type of connection are you using? Are you connected directly (Ethernet) or through Wi-Fi? Can you connect to websites or get updates for your antivirus just fine? Also is your connection going through a proxy server? This error code could mean that your connection goes through a proxy server and basic authentication is enabled. This is a problem because the server requires you to provide a username and password but the activation interface does not allow you to provide the proper information/credentials. What you can try is to do the activation through phone. Also if you have a way to disable the basic authentication of your proxy server , then do that and try the activation again. Hope this helps.

Hi.

There are few scenarios that can occur with that error.

1) Check if you are behind a proxy server. For this open Administrator Command Prompt and type netsh winhttp set proxy [your proxy server]

2) If your firewall is up, shut it down and rerun Office registering.

3) Check your license.

That error code, “0x8004fe33”, is triggered when a user is activating something and he is on a proxy or using an authenticated proxy. This actually doesn’t only happen to Microsoft Office 2010 when activating but also to Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 as well as Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2012 when activating the operating system.

To activate the application successfully, try it outside your proxy or don’t use proxy at all. If you cannot use the internet without proxy, try activating the product via phone. To activate Microsoft Office 2010 via phone, in Microsoft Office 2010, click “File”, “Help”, and then “Activate Product Key”. In the activation wizard, select “I want to activate the software by telephone”.

Select your region or country to display the phone number for your area. When calling the Activation Center, you’ll be asked to give the installation ID and other information. Once your installation ID is verified, you will receive a confirmation ID. Enter the confirmation ID in the activation wizard then press Enter.

In case the problem continues and you still cannot activate, call the Activation Center again but don’t enter or say anything. You’ll be automatically transferred to someone who can help you.
