Hi! I am using Windows 98 (as I have got slower computer machine) and created a dial up connection on it. It has been quite long time I am using dial up connection without facing any sort of issue though by the time now I am encountering with an error message. Let me try to explain you people what nature of error I am facing the time I try to use VPN. It results me the following error message:

windows dun/rss error 601
"the port handle is invalid."

Hello Debrajbartels,

Here are the possible resolutions. I hope any one of them will help you fix the problem.

 

Method 1:

Go to Control Panel and find “Modems”, go to “Diagnostics”, then highlight the COM port which the modem is located on. Then click on “more info”, if your modem responds, then restart your system, if the problem repeats even after that, then reinstall the modem. If the problem still persists, press the keys Ctrl+Alt+Delete, select Start Task Manager, go to Applications tab in the Task Manager, Select “RNAAPP” and click on “End Task”   

 

Method 2:

The problem might have occurred because of a change in your connection settings from your ISP. Contact your Internet Service Provider or a Technician.
