My computer is Windows XP Home Edition SP3. I downloaded the trial version of EDIUS 6 and unzipped the folder. I double clicked the SetupManagerForEDIUS.exe file according to the instruction. But file didn’t open. Clicking the Setup.exe threw a "License agreement" window along with an error “17001 – System error". I have Let's Edit software installed on my computer. I have tried installing EDIUS 4 trial version before but uninstalled it. Why am I receiving the error? How can I resolve it?
Error “17001 – System error” EDIUS 6 software
That problem is occurring possibly because the EDIUS 6 application cannot be able to properly load DLL's for that application during the installation, and therefore I will suggest that you either wrap all the functionality within one DLL and then hide the other 'dangerous' functions, and you will need to do that by not exporting them, or you can also choose to alias the dangerous functions.
If that does not work, you may also try to get another setup manager because the one that you are using right now may be corrupt. Make sure that you download it from a trusted site.

Error “17001 – System error” EDIUS 6 software
Hello,
To my knowledge error code 17001 is a database error and has something to do with the corrupt download. When downloading with download manager this database error is generated sometimes.
You can try to download the setup files from visstitle, use a download manager to avoid this error.
I hope this information is helpful in resolving the error you have encountered.
