I tried to install Steam on my Windows Vista 32 bit. 1st disk seems to work but on the 2nd disk it comes up with an error code "Error 1045" and after clicking on OK, it comes up "An error occurred: File execution failed, elevation required". Tried to uninstall it and install it again but still the same result comes up.

Please help.

Hi,

I want to help you with your problem but, first we need to know what error 1045 is. Error 1045 is an error code that appears when you enter a wrong username or incorrect password. It can also occur when you are trying to access some database that you were not granted to enter or don't have a privilege to access.

Try to run your installer in administrator mode. You could also try other way solving your problem; copy all the content of the disk in to your computer (create a new folder for your CD in your computer) and then install it from there, or you could go to  "My Computer then "right click" on your "CD drive" click "open" then right click the "setup.exe" and run it as administrator.

I hope one of these solves your problem.
