We all know very well that the two big public clouds Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services to receive direct links from Equinix. Now I heard that Google’s public cloud has also joined the exchange to receive private direct links which offers a high performance, secure connection that bypasses the public Internet. Is Equinix really offering private direct links to Google Compute Platform?

Google Cloud Platform is a new member that joined Equinix Cloud Exchange. Direct network links from Equinix data centers are now available in Google public cloud in 15 markets which now covers almost all Equinix Cloud Exchange markets around the world. Equinix is one of Google’s first partners to provide private, direct links to its public cloud.

This offers enterprises a secure connection and a high performance that bypasses the public internet. Google is the last of the 3 huge public clouds that joined the exchange. The other 2 were Amazon Web Services or AWS and Microsoft Azure. Direct links to Google public cloud will be launched in the first 15 Equinix markets.

These markets are Chicago, Amsterdam, Atlanta, Dallas, London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Seattle, Singapore, Tokyo, Washington D.C., and Silicon Valley. There are still 2 markets that were not announced but they predicted Toronto and Sydney.
