Hi to all,

I have been working on Ax 2012 and now I have installed the enterprise portal (EP) in my computer a few days ago. Windows 7 enterprise edition is the operating system I am using.

I wanted to download the SharePoint Foundation 2010. I found a link from where it could be downloaded on the internet. I gave it a try and it was successfully downloaded. The link was:

 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5970

After downloading it, now I am facing a problem. I wanted to install it by running the .exe file but whenever I try to do it, an error window pops up which is shown below:

Error:
Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s): This product requires Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 or above.Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup.

I have posted this problem to many forums but no positive response.
If anybody of you has any idea, please do let me know.
Looking forward to your replies

Regards

Harry

Setup.exe the executable for the installation process was running in compatibility mode for some reason.

Try this:

Right click on the setup.exe file.
Click on Properties.
Click on the Compatibility tab.
uncheck the option for Run this program in compatibility mode
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Double click on the program.

Hope this helps!

Dear Mr. Hardy,

After checking the compatibility settings, you can take the following steps if the error still occurs:

  1. Install the Sharepoint 2010 Pre-requisites as shown below
  2. Pre-requisites installed successfully
  3. Start the Foundation installation
  4. Run the Sharepoint Configuration Wizard
  5. All the tasks should have been completed successfully

Hope this was helpful to you.

Best regard,
