Dual Screen Taichi Asus Windows 8 pc durability

Asus told us that the two screens work independently and that both can be used for different applications at the same time. This opens up possibilities such as having someone play a Metro-style app while another person types away at the keyboard end.  I wonder how far will go its durability for years?

Hi David

Asus Taichi, a dual screen ultrabook with the combination of the Zenbook and a full HD Windows 8 tablet. It will come with 11.6” and 13.3”, backlight QWERTY keyboard for typing in the dark, 3rd generation Intel Core processors, fast SSD storage and 4GB DDR3 memory. Asus Taichi have a pair of USB 3.0 ports, a combo 3.5mm audio jack volume rocker, rotation lock, micro HDMI, mini Display Port and a power socket.

The dual screen of Asus Taichi can work simultaneously or independently of each other. The user can use both the ultrabook and the tablet at the same time because both can access the hardware. Asus Taichi will be running Windows 8. Asus didn’t indicate when will be the release date and the price of the Taichi since they are still waiting for Microsoft to release Windows 8 Operating System. According to Steven Sinofsky, the president for Windows stated that the new OS would be launched "for the holidays". It would be likely this 2012 or late this year.

When it comes to durability, it all depends on how you handle or take care of the device. Since the device is not yet out in the market, nobody has fully tested the device except for the Asus engineers who designed the product. Most of our devices right now have 2-3 yrs of span.

Hope you will find this helpful.

Cheers
