Drawing canvas in Word, Why do I need it ?

What is the drawing canvas in MS word used for? How does it work? How can I delete the drawing canvas around my object? Can I prevent Word from automatically creating the drawing canvas each time I insert an object in Word? Where in the tools menu can I find an option to turn this off?

Drawing canvas in Word, Why do I need it ?

It is used for organizing your objects which you put in word document.

In Word 2007, click the Office Button  and select Word Options

 Then go to Advanced  Option under which selecting the Editing Options menu

 Then uncheck the  option "Automatically create drawing canvas when inserting AutoShapes" and press OK
